Cameron Y. S. Lee, DMD MD PHD MBA MPH
Dr. Cameron Y. S. Lee earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from The Washington University School of Dental Medicine; Doctorate of Medicine from Saint Christopher’s College of Medicine (MD) and Doctorate of Philosophy from Touro University International (PHD). See below for complete educational profile of Dr. Lee.
He completed residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the world renowned rigorous and prestigious University of Illinois/Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL. During his final year of surgical training, Dr. Lee was appointed to the coveted position of Chief Resident of Oral and Maxillofacal Surgery.
Because of Dr. Lee’s unique educational background, Dr Lee has authored or co-authored more than 50 scientific articles in peer reviewed professional journals. An area of particular interest is in the use of in-office cone beam computed tomography (CT) scan technology and interactive three dimensional (3D) computer software in the evaluation, planning and treatment of reconstructive surgical procedures of the face and jaws.
Dr. Lee’s clinical research interest also involves the use of tissue growth factors, such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) and mesenchymal stem cells. He is the 2008 recipient of the James V. McKinney, Jr. Award from the prestigious journal, Implant Dentistry for outstanding Basic and Clinical Science Research involving the use of tissue growth factors in bone regeneration of the maxillary sinus floor.
As the Baby Boomer generation is the largest population in the world and many of his patients are trying to maintain a more youthful appearance, Dr. Lee’s clinical interest also includes delaying the effects of facial aging with the use of platelet rich plasma and microneedling techniques to rejuvenate collagen and elastin of the face. In addition, Dr. Lee has incorporated a non-surgical face lift procedure that uses specialized resorbable threads to lift the skin of the face that provides an immediate more youthful slender facial profile and appearance. With these specialized procedures to delay facial aging and bring back a more youthful look for his patients, the biggest advantage is that there is no, or very little “down time” over the next several days.
Dr. Lee is a Fellow and Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has a private practice specializing in oral, maxillofacial and implant reconstructive surgery in Aiea and Honolulu, Hawaii.
With Dr. Lee’s formal academic background, he holds the faculty appointment of Adjunct Professor of Surgery at the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He lectures annually at Temple University, as well as in Hawaii.
